I've been looking for one of these (MX5) for a while (about 30 years) and found John Lambert via Autotrader. Messaged (via Google Chat) on a Friday night to ask if the car was still in stock, it was, and I headed over the following morning for a look and a test drive.

Greeted by James and looked round the car. It was in first class condition and after a 15 minute test drive I was sold. I say sold, this isn't a high pressure (or any pressure) selling environment just a honest business providing excellent customer service. Highly recommended.

I had the most brilliant experience with this company. James in particular who I dealt with was kind, helpful and personable. He went above and beyond not only in terms of providing me with much needed reassurances (after having two other garages let me down in a short time) but also with helpful information prior to buying the car (e.g. to check the amount I could transfer daily from my bank). James was amazing, he also helped me hugely by offering to clean my old car which my sister was going to collect. He did this absolutely free of charge and refused my offer to pay. I wish more car sales places were like this but I am over the moon. My car is gorgeous and it was just such an enjoyable experience! Thank you!

Bought a new too me alpine white x3 30d xdrive msport. And could not be happier with the service I recieved from James. I told him a little about issues I was having with a lemon bought from another dealership and he was very understanding. He walked me through the process and held the car for 3 months waiting for the unwind to go through. There was no hassle or pestering for updates and was so friendly and understanding. Honestly the service was out of this world. Came too d day and the unwind was done and within 7 days I have the car sat on my drive. Its immaculate and with the 6 month warranty (I honestly don't think I'll need) I couldn't be happier. A full years mot, full valet, refurbished alloys, mini service and new tyres. I'm elated. I have never left a review for a dealer in my years of buying cars but I was so impressed with the service I received from James I feel like I have too. I bought a low mileage, fantastic spec Cayman 981 from the guys in July 2022 at a price I was happy with only to have a completely unforeseen issue on the way home. James went above and beyond to help me giving me my PX back to get home in and spending the next month or so getting my new car fixed , it didn't matter who needed speaking too or what needed doing it wasn't a problem and in the end the problem was solved. I brought a 2016 Audi TT 2.0 S-Line S-Tronic without viewing or test-drive, but purely based on the website advert along with trust and confidence in John Lambert Car Sales. The buying experience with James and the Team was fantastic - relaxed, comprehensive, even a personalised video tour around the car. Everything was catered for - with a service, full MOT, warranty, arranging tax and fuel for me to drive away, and the car was in gleaming reflective condition. With hindsight I did not ask key questions like Service History. But I had no concerns, for the paperwork and history all checks out with the car being properly cared for. To turn up and be introduced to this car, right down to my stupid questions of 'how do I start it up', and driving it away was quite surreal. Now a week later, burning through a tank of fuel as I've drove it to enjoy each day, and having plenty of time to discover every individual feature, and seeing its condition in careful detail, I still have no concern or doubt. The car and buying experience is beyond my expectation, and I would not hesitate recommending JL Car Sales for someone's next car purchase.

I went to John Lambert as I have been looking for a BMW 120i coupe. Unfortunately the sport variant wasnt exactly what I was looking for. However, I have never felt so welcome at a dealership. James was extremely friendly, and didnt pressure me into buying the car if I wasn't 100% certain it's what I was looking for. About 25 minutes before we arrived, I called and asked to see a Mazda mx5 as well, as I was looking for one previously. It was no issue. They had both cars ready to look at by the time we got there. I got to try both cars to see if either of them were right for me.

Both cars we saw that day were immaculate (even at their older age). It became very clear very quickly that all the reviews I read were true; John Lambert don't buy cars from auction. It's very apparent that all their stock is chosen carefully to make sure that they don't sell anyone a car they will regret buying.

Even though I was picky about what I wanted from a rather rare (at low mileage) 10 year old car, after speaking to James he told me it was no problem to try and source the car I was after. I would honestly rather wait an eternity for them to have the right car I'm looking for, than to waste my time else where. I'm really greatful for all their help and friendliness. I trust in what the stand for and I hope my next car comes from them.

I'm making sure to tell everyone I know looking for a car to come here first. I know that I'll be returning for sure in the future.

I bought a Honda Jazz from James on behalf of my mother; she's already written a review on here but I really felt compelled to add my own comments. What genuine, honest, pleasant guys! They choose their stock carefully, and the car was beautifully presented and backed up with all the required history/paperwork. They really put their money where their mouths are with the warranty, not just offering one but also offering to complete all the required warranty process for you, should you be unlucky enough to need it (though at the garage of your choice). As Mum has highlighted on here, her needs were quite specific and the logistics of dealing with a dealer 200 miles away challenging due to COVID and her health. James really went above and beyond to help me deal with that, and I'm so grateful. Great guys, friendly, considerate and understanding and so very helpful to my mother over the phone/internet. I highly recommended these utter gentlemen to anybody looking at their stock.

From my very first conversation with James about a Honda Jazz he had advertised on AutoTrader, I was treated with the utmost courtesy and reassuring manner. As I am an older lady, that means a lot to me. I felt I was being listened to when I phoned to check it out. My son had found the car on AutoTrader from his base at High Wycombe and I decided to pay a holding deposit until my son could get free from work to view it for me. This was after viewing the car by arranged and accompanied video. I pray to the Lord God about all my decisions in life and I just felt this was what I had been looking for, even the colour!!! When my son went to see it he said it was just right for me and he is a real 'petrol-head' so I knew he had examined it well. It was exactly as James described it. So it was arranged that, to make life simpler for me (as I am a heart patient and have been shielding during the Pandemic) my son would drive his own car to Lambert Car Sales and James and his Dad were very happy to let my son leave it there; while he drove the now purchased Honda Jazz down to me in North Devon. I was offered a VERY good price for my old Honda Jazz, so then my son drove it back to Lambert's, picked up his own car to return home to High Wycombe and now everyone involved is happy! Especially me and my carer daughter, who will do most of the driving for me till I've had my cataract surgery are both happy!!! I must tell you that my own Jazz was a 2005 model and the new one is a 2008 model in absolute mint condition!! We like that model series and didn't really want a newer Jazz model which I had been taken out locally to look at and we didn't like the 'improvements' on the newer models!! I tell you this because many car sales firms don't treat their customers with the amazing courtesy and care James treated us with, on cars in the lower price brackets. No sales pressure
I can say that the web site's claim that there is no sales pressure is spot on. I made an appointment and was met by The sales man when we arrived. I was allowed to look at the car in unbothered and then had a test drive. The car was everything it said in the advert, in lovely condition and well prepared. From seeing the car to driving it away they were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I was looking for a car for my son, low mileage, good condition and reliable. The Golf fitted all the criteria, and was a fair price. They arranged the transfer of private plates from my old car too. Everything was very quick and smooth, which is important to me with my busy work schedule. I would very happily buy through them again. Friendly and helpful but professional
I bought a used Kia Picanto from JL, my Renault Clio going in part-exchange. It was a very easy and pleasant experience with no "hard sell" at all and all my questions answered promptly and to my satisfaction. We danced around the price a little bit , as you'd expect, but that was all done in good humour and I was happy with the final deal. Within a few days they sourced and fitted after-market central locking for me and, as a result of advisories on the fresh MoT test, put on two new tyres. There was even a decent amount of petrol in the tank when I picked the car up! Next time I need a car JL will definitely be my first option.
